Obama is President Number 44!!! In the spirit of his election, i am republishing a list of Obama’s top 10 tv moments as found on a tubecount post. (See original post for the authors comments on each video as well).
This well arranged list includes moments of laugter, heartfelt speech, and of course the middle ground of a well prepared President-to-be.
AP reports: The executive who succeeded Jay-Z as the head of hip-hop music label Def Jam Recordings died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound near Atlanta, police said Sunday.
Executive vice president Shakir Stewart, 34, died on Saturday, his New York-based label said in a statement.
Stewart was found Saturday afternoon in the bathroom of his home in the Atlanta suburb of Marietta, Cobb County police spokeswoman Cassie Reece said Sunday. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Hip Hop News shares the statement of the company: “L.A. Reid and all of us at Island Def Jam Music Group are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and colleague Shakir Stewart,” the statement reads. “Shakir was an amazing man, in every sense of the word. A truly incredible friend and father who was an inspiration to not only our artists and employees, but to his family and the many people who had the privilege of counting him as a friend. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family at this very difficult time.”
Stewart’s fiancée, Michelle Rivers, released a joint statement on behalf of his family and friends to thank everyone for their love and support. The statement also reveals that the high-ranking executive was “in deep pain and largely suffering in silence” prior to his death. Stewart’s friends and Def Jam co-workers also released a similar statement.
Electronics retailer Circuit City is suffering as a result of the ongoing financial crisis, and taking a serious hit. As a result, in an attempt to escape bankruptcy, Circuit City will shut 155 stores in the US. Some will be happy as the closing stores will be holding sales starting Wednesday; however as a result the company is leaving more than 12 media markets!
According to Tech Trader: The struggling electronics retailer seems to be pushing hard to stay out of bankruptcy, but it is clearly going to be a difficult road. The company this morning announced that it will close 155 U.S. stores, all of which will close tomorrow and then re-open on Wednesday to start store-closing sales.

Circuit City said that the stores that are closing generated FY 2008 sales of $1.4 billion; the store closings will result in the company exiting from a dozen media markets. The closings will reduce the company’s headcount by about 17%.

Encouraged by the company’s cost-cutting moves, investors have bid up CC today by 9 cents, or 34.6%, to 35 cents.
Prowresting.net: The following report of Kurt Angle’s appearance on the Howard Stern Sirius satellite radio show was filed by Dot Net reader Jagger K.
This was one of the better Stern episodes since he came to Sirius because of the first time visit of Eric The Midget in studio. The way Kurt Angle got on the show was he delivered American Idol’s Diana DeGarmo, who is now involved with TNA. DiGarmo was always the object of affection from Eric The Midget, including Eric being known to call her mother at home requesting dates. Diana said she cannot say what her involvement is with TNA, but she will be appearing with them.
Palin was pranked by a Canadian radio station last night. The matter was reported by credible sources such as the MSNBC (Associated Press report) and commented upon by several blogs.
The prank comes at a critical time, when we are all counting down the hours to the US election, costing the Republicans much needed votes at the last minute. The matter is expected to receive significant coverage in Monday’s papers, and effect undecided voters.
Barack Obama knows nothing of the alleged immigration status of his aunt, known as “the illegal aunt” but believes that all appropriate laws should apply to her. With Republicans and media digging deep in the final hours to find a scandal wherever it may lie, the Obama camp seems unshaken with these stories. And if Obama has a relative who is trying hard to live the American dream- so what? The law is the law and that’s that!
Reuters – Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obamaknows nothing about the status of a Kenyan relative reported to be living in the United States illegally but believes “all appropriate laws should be followed,” his campaign said on Saturday.
The Obama campaign responded to an Associated Press report that Obama’s aunt had been ordered to leave the country four years ago by an immigration judge who rejected her request for asylum from her native Kenya.
A sudden surge in research of the term “Rex 84″ today sparked quite some fears and anxiety. After looking at this mysterious term on Google Trends, I did some research, which I learned that Rex 84 is a plan of the US government to be used in the case when it is necessary to “detain” large numbers of Americans in the case of civil unrest or emergency.
With just this basic info I wanted to know more. I then stumbled upon an article on Newpost Online: FEMA And REX 84: sounds too scary to be true! And quoting this very interesting article, we come to the essence of my fear and insecurity about this mere search engine phenomenon:
The scenarios established to trigger FEMA into action are generally found in the society today: economic collapse, civil unrest, drug problems, terrorist attacks, and protests against American intervention in a foreign country. All these premises exist, it could only be a matter of time in which one of these triggers the entire emergency necessary to bring FEMA into action, and then it may be too late, because under the FEMA plan, there is no contingency by which Constitutional power is restored.
According to Wikipedia: Rex 84, short for Readiness Exercise 1984, is a plan by the United States federal government to test their ability to detain large numbers of American citizens in case of civil unrest or national emergency.
Wikipedia continues at the end to mention that: In 2008, for the first time an active military unit has been given a dedicated assignment stateside for civil unrest containment. It is assigned to Northcom, a joint command established in 2002 to provide command and control for federal homeland defense efforts and coordinate defense support of civil authorities.[7]
Senator Ted Stevens of Alaska has been found guilty of lying to the senate about gifts received by contractor Bill Allen. The oil services company gave $250,000 in gifts (at least that was what was officially uncovered) to the Senator. It is interesting to see what sort of punishment the Senator will actually get…

The authorities have stopped two skinheads from carrying out a planned assassination attempt on Barrack Obama, just a few days before the Election which will determine whether Obama will be the first Black President of the United States of America. With a strong lead of nearly 10% in the polls, an assassination attempt on Obama is the fear of many and unfortunately the dreadful desire of a few.
AP: Law enforcement agents have broken up a plot by two neo-Nazi skinheads to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 88 black people, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives said Monday.
In court records unsealed Monday in U.S. District Court in Jackson, Tenn., federal agents said they disrupted plans to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school in a murder spree that was to begin in Tennessee. Agents said the skinheads did not identify the school by name.
It seems that the tragic double has turned to triple homicide with the finding of what could be Jennifer Hudson’s nephew in a car that was on amber alert after the dissapearance of Hudson’s nephew.
ABC News: The body of a young black boy recovered from a sport utility vehicle this morning is believed to be Jennifer Hudson’s missing 7-year-old nephew Julian King, an FBI official told ABC News.
Official confirmation of the body’s identity is still pending.
Associated Press: Authorities didn’t identify the body of a young black boy found in the SUV Monday. But police Cmdr. Wayne Gulliford said the license plate on the SUV found Monday matched the one sought in an Amber Alert issued after the singer’s mother and brother were found shot to death at home Friday.
